"Lassie Come Home" - Movie in the Grove

The collie that claimed the hearts of readers of Eric Knight’s book and inspired a classic early television series will be celebrated during the July Movie in the Grove at Hiwan Homestead Museum in Evergreen. Enjoy a free movie showing of the 1943 classic “Lassie Come Home” on Saturday, July 26 at 8:30 P.M. in historic Heritage Grove, located on the grounds next to Hiwan Homestead Museum at 4208 S. Timbervale Dr., Evergreen 80439. 

The movie follows the adventures of Lassie, a collie, as she tries to return to her beloved owner, played by Roddy McDowall. A very young Elizabeth Taylor also has a big role in the cast.

Location

Hiwan Homestead Museum is a 25-room log mansion constructed in the Rustic style of architecture and is open for public tours Tuesday thorugh Sunday with summer hours through August from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. It is located in Evergreen at 4208 South Timbervale Drive. Hiwan Homestead Museum is a Jefferson County Open Space facility operated in partnership with the Jefferson County Historical Society. The Museum was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
